My Epic Trip To Arizona & Utah

Hi there! This is my first post in 2016, and I will be working on the blog posts in reverse, starting from the newest work to unshown work completed in 2015. Lots of interesting stuff, I kid you not.

It’s been a month since my epic trip to Arizona and Utah. Words can’t fully describe how I feel about this trip. For a start, I think “epic” would describe it aptly. I love to travel and I am most happy when I’m traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people from different background and cultures. This trip was organized by Don Giannatti, a successful commercial photographer with 40+ years of experience, and a gifted educator whom I have followed since 2011. It was only in late 2014 I was blessed to know him personally by taking his 8-Week Portrait classes and thereafter the Project 52 Pros 2015 class when I decided to pursue commercial photography…making a full circle to return to my background in advertising.

This annual P52 trip lasted 8 days, inclusive of one day for meet-and-greet. There were 12 of us, who flew into Phoenix (the starting point of the journey and also where Don is based) from various parts of USA and one each from Canada, Sweden and Norway. It was fun hanging out as new friends and as peers in photography, while enjoying God’s great artistic work and creation on this planet we live in. It’s during this trip that I realized that I really enjoy landscape photography too!

I can’t wait to go back again! Here are some of my favorite shots from the trip.

Vermillion Cliffs

Lee’s Ferry

This is my first time photographing the milky way.

Bryce Canyon

Horseshoe Bend

Antelope Canyon

Can you spot the bear?

This photograph reminds me of Morgan Freeman in the bus scene in Shawshank Redemption…somehow I imagined him being in the bus.
