“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what the sunflowers do.” – Helen Keller

Here’s my favorite couple again, Ben & Katie. When Katie told me about the sunflower fields at the Gorman Heritage Farm, I nearly fell out of my chair. That’s one of the locations in my check list and I just can’t believe my luck! After getting the necessary permission from the director of the farm, we headed out for a session at a few chosen locations within the farm. Here are some of my favorites.

This tree. It’s just magical!

And aaaah…the sunflower field at the beautiful, golden hour. I feel like King Midas.

Amanda N Parr - So adorable

As part of the Rural Heritage Tour recently, The Switzerland County Historical Society in Vevay, Indiana did the wedding re-enactment of Emily Thiebaud and John Shaw Malcomson at the Thiebaud Farmstead. It was also to celebrate what would have been John and Emily’s 150th wedding anniversary. A lot of talents and volunteers came together to made the whole event such a success.

On the eve of the wedding day, the whole gang came together to give the final touches to the decoration, cleaning. The kitchen was busy with food preparation and cooking for the volunteers. The beautiful “bride” Taylor Benning and the talented seamstress, Andrea Kappes did a final fitting on a remake of the popular style in 1864. The said dress was sewn together from two separate wedding dresses – yes, that’s how mind blowing Andrea’s talent is!

On the wedding day, even though it’s a reenactment, it was as busy and lots of activities were happening simultaneously.

Ellen Stepleton - It was the finest “wedding” I’ve ever attended, and the photographer captured it brilliantly. I too would like to be notified when these photographs become available for purchase. The bride’s gown was a masterpiece and I hope it’s being preserved.

I’ve always been interested to embark into fashion photography, having been an ardent subscriber of Vogue and W magazines. So I was very excited when a collaboration opportunity came in place with Sydney, a very talented, upcoming fashion stylist based in Cincinnati. Here are some of my favorites.
