Last December, I was contacted by Melanie & Eric Sorenson who reside in Mississippi, enquiring if I do photograph houses. They had found my contact details via Google search for local photographers from Milan area. (Yay for SEO efficacy!) They wanted a gallery canvas of the house which Eric had grew up in and has fond memories of as a special present for Eric’s mother. The house has now been sold and the aunt and uncle who are residing in it now are in the process of moving.

Coincidently, I had just completed an online real estate & architectural photography course by the brilliant Mike Kelley Photography. So obviously I said a heartilyΒ “Yes!” to the task.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to meet the Christmas deadline, so we decided to push it as a Valentine’s Day present instead. A lot of preparations were involved from recceing the house for the best angle, as well as working out the project timeline accordingly. Cut to the chase, project was a success. Below you can see how the house looks with a single shot, with the Mike Kelley magical twilight shoot processes and lastly, the happy tears from Eric’s mom when she received the canvas.

The Sorensons left me a 5-Star review –

“Anjali, we would like to express our deep appreciation for the work you did for us. Through the wonders of social media, we found you to fulfill an everlasting memory for our mother. We contacted you from Mississippi to photograph our mother’s family home. You promptly contacted us and began working to make this come to fruition. Your professionalism in this process kept us abreast of every step you made in this venture, and produced a final product that was beyond our expectations.

Eric and Melanie Sorenson”

This is my first step transitioning into commercial photography, which will include real estate and architectural photography. I am very excited with this new expansion of my photography services! 2015, bring it on!

Here again is the final image of the Sparta House in its full glory!

I’m very happy and proud to share these photographs of Sam, a 2015 Graduate of Pickerington High School North in Pickerington, Ohio. One of the key factor why I’m extremely proud is because Sam was born in Malaysia, but he’s very much as American as any other seniors. Sam is an active lad into cross training and many other sports. Highly dedicated and smart…the future is bright for this one.

Donald Curtis - Outstanding portraits. Congratulations Sam good job!

It’s always a great honor when an award-winning photographer commissioned you to make beautiful portraits of her and her family, and to submit one of the images to the Professional Photographers of America’s “Faces of PPA” gallery.

Susan Gertz is an award winning pet photographer, based in Middletown, OH. Last year, Susan was the proud recipient of the 2014 Professional Photographers of America (PPA) prestigious Silver Medal Award. You can view her award winning photographs here, or if you are heading to Nashville, TN end of this month for the Imaging USA event, they will be displayed there as well.

The first image is the one to be submitted to the “Faces of PPA” gallery. Taken in the DogPatch Pix’s studio, it shows a pulled-back Behind The Scene scenario of pet photographer’s session. We included Tom Runyan, Susans’ husband, in his assistant’s role, and all of their furry children.

The brief for the photo submission is as below, and there’s the need to leave some negative space for the texts:

The photo must creatively represent you as the photographer you are. We’d hope to see, at least, a glimpse of your face, but it can be cropped or partially hidden. What matters most is to have a representation of you as the photographer and/or a creative artist that you are. This means that including your camera(s) or photographic equipment in the frame is highly encouraged. No corporate headshot or anything that won’t scream (A) that photography is what you do for a living, or (B) that you are a super creative/artistic person. (Taken from the Faces of PPA submission form)

This is the alternative photograph for the submission. The furry children are (from left to right) – Gus (the talk, dark and handsome), Darwin (the adorable darling), Lobo (Tom’s darling) and Garrison (the feisty cutie).

Thereafter, we did some family and couple photographs.

These two lovebirds have been married for 32 glory years! I adore you all, Gertz Runyan family! XOXO
