There is no denying how much I love street photography. I could walk miles on end, at my own snail pace, keeping my eyes and ears peeled for interesting things and people to shoot. Absorbing my surrounding. Being at the moment. And that’s the reason I do this best when I am traveling solo. It just fits my hermit personality, sometimes have been misconstrued as arrogance; which is unfortunate because it’s quite a far cry from the truth. I am just too comfortable in my own skin, that’s all.

This explained when I was in Vegas last February, I stayed away from most of the WPPI parties and opted to walk the Vegas strip on my own or with the 2 new-found photog friends, Conrad and Tanya.

Anyway, I’ve digressed. This post is one of my favorite thus far. Meet Cheddar, the Vegas Cat. I fell in love with him at first sight. I literally stopped at my track in disbelieve. I mean look at him! Too adorable for words! I approached the owner and talked to her a little bit to get permission to shoot and to get their story. Cheddar got him name because of his orangey color. He is 1.5 years old and they make their appearances around the south strip 2-3 times a week. His attire is specially made so that he can sit straight the way he did, and he gets out of it sporadically. A lot of people who walked on the bridge that night stopped for a double take as I did, amazed at how quiet and straight Cheddar sits. Many asked if he wasn’t a toy instead.

The love and adoration she has for Cheddar and him for her is mutual. On that chilly February night, the sight of them both warmed me up nicely.

Hello! I was in Las Vegas recently to attend WPPI 2012 (an annual Wedding & Portrait Photographers International convention) On the second last night, I walked the strip for some street photography. While I am culling and editing all of them, here’s a preview of one favorite shot. Those who know me know very well that I have a thing for Elvis. Did you know that I had an Elvis wedding? Yeah, I am very cool like that. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I was just hanging out near the Fountain of Bellagio when I saw the 2 Elvises, Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear approaching that dude for a photo opportunity. As they were posing, I hurriedly sneaked behind them for this shot.

More Las Vegas shots coming soon. Watch this space.

Late last fall, I had the pleasure to photograph the Lynch family. This photo session is very meaningful to me – it’s somewhat a nice cycle of event. When I first came to Versailles in 2008, Tina was one of the first friends I made. It started when I opened a bank account at her bank. I remember my reply to a friend’s question if I’ve made any new friends – I replied, “Yes, I’ve made ONE new friend – my bank manager!” So I am thrilled that Tina was my first family portrait client.

Tina and her family were really wonderful to work with – they are happy people, fun, adventurous and big fans of Harley Davidson. Even on a drizzling, overcast day, their sunny personalities shone through.

Told you they were fun to work with!

And here’s Tina’s testimonial for the session. Check out more testimonials on my Testimonials page. ๐Ÿ™‚
